In 2007 the Cannes Film Festival will celebrate its 60th anniversary.
With the AFC, we are organizing the Pavillon de l'image, an event
dedicated to the art of Cinematography
The ambition of the Pavillon de l'image is to establish a meeting point that will become an important venue at the Cannes Film Festival. Its main goal
will be to enhance the art of Cinematography and all related professions and industries.
The Pavillon de l'image is an essential role to play in this phase of technological and artistic evolution, preserving the future
quality of films and exploring the new frontiers of imaging. Directors of photography, and the world's film making community are all directly
concerned by the way their work is being redefined by the advent of new technologies. The Pavillon also aims to create a debate on this exiting and
important matter.
The Pavillon de l'image wishes to become a showcase for the cultural patrimony of cinematography, promoting dialogue amongst these incredibly
talented people and with everyone else concerned by the creation of images : directors, producers, distributors, institutions, the press, agents,
technicians, and movie bluffs. Its finds its natural place within a festival whose intent is the promotion of the Seventh Art.
Both share the desire to encourage as wide a public as possible to discover the Art of Cinematography, rather than limiting it to the realm
of a few specialist initiates.
